The Lazy Vegetarian

Tuesday

Recipe: Philly Cheese "Steaks"

We ate these the other night and they were both easy and quite tasty! Makes 3 - 5 depending on size of rolls.

Bakery Rolls
1 package Morningstar Farms Meal Starters Veggie "Steak" Strips
2 - 3 Tbsps Canola oil
1 onion, cut into strips
1 green pepper, cut into strips
Cheese of choice (dairy or soy)
  • folks have strong opinions on the correct cheese for this sandwich - so you may prefer provolone, swiss, american, cheddar, or a jarred cheese product - I do not judge!

Preheat oil in large flat-bottom skillet. Cook onion and pepper over medium heat for about 5 minutes (or until desired crispness). Add strips and cook until strips are warm through. Separate in pan into individual servings. Place cheese on top until melted/warm. Transfer to warmed/toasted rolls.

This is great with a fruit salad in the summer.

Giveaway My Readers May Like

Though we don't need to live gluten-free, we do like to win things.

If you do too, head over to Mama & Baby: Gluten Free fast and enter her contest for some great products (mostly desserts).

I don't have giveaways here (although hey if any companies want to sponsor one, I'm totally in), but let me know if you like the link to a giveaway and I'll try to throw some interesting ones here occasionally.
